When you can see death coming, the real question is: should you stop it?
Shinrei Academy is a prestigious boarding school with a dark secret: one in every hundred students develops 'Sight' — the ability to see Death Omens, ghostly marks that appear on people 72 hours before they die. Seers are supposed to report Omens to the faculty, who use protective rituals to prevent the deaths. The system has worked for decades. But now students are dying despite the rituals, Omens are appearing on Seers themselves, and someone within the Academy is weaponizing death itself.
Shinrei Academy, a sprawling campus of traditional Japanese architecture mixed with modern facilities, nestled in a mountain valley surrounded by ancient cedar forests. Cherry blossoms bloom year-round due to the spiritual energy permeating the grounds. Beneath the beauty, the school's true purpose — training Seers and preventing supernatural deaths — is hidden from most students.
A beautiful stone courtyard under ancient cherry trees, where new students gather for their first day.
