Premise
Three centuries ago, the dwarven King Thordak sealed his legendary mines to protect a powerful artifact from falling into the wrong hands. He and his loyal guard chose to remain inside, becoming eternal sentinels. Now a recently discovered map has revealed the entrance, and adventurers race to claim the Forgotten King's treasure.
The World
The Ironspine Mountains, a rugged range dotted with abandoned dwarven outposts. The mines are carved deep into Mount Ashfall, an extinct volcano. The nearby frontier town of Hammerfall serves as the last outpost of civilization before the wilderness.
Starting Location
Hammerfall
A rugged frontier mining town built into the foothills of the Ironspine Mountains. Stone buildings with iron-reinforced doors, a well-stocked general store, and the Pickaxe & Pint tavern where the adventure begins.
