Wind the key, open the door, and pray the toys are friendly
The Clockwork Kingdom exists inside an enormous magical music box, a pocket realm where toys brought to life by the Grand Mechanism live in a miniature civilization. For centuries, the Toymaker Queen maintained the Mechanism and kept the kingdom harmonious. But the Queen has vanished, the Mechanism is failing, and the toys are dividing into factions — some want to find the Queen, others want to seize control of the Mechanism, and some are simply breaking down into madness.
A fantastical miniature world of brass gears, crystal springs, and velvet landscapes. The capital city of Mainspring sits around the Grand Clock Tower, where the Mechanism's heartbeat can be heard in every ticking cobblestone. Music-box forests play haunting melodies, rivers of liquid silver flow between porcelain hills, and the sky is painted on the inside of the music box's lid — perpetual twilight lit by tiny mechanical stars.
The entrance to the Clockwork Kingdom — a delicate archway of painted porcelain flowers that chime when you pass through. Beyond it, the kingdom stretches out in miniature wonder: cobblestone streets of interlocking gears, lamp posts that tick like metronomes, and the Grand Clock Tower rising in the distance, its hands moving erratically.
