Premise
The Storykeepers — immortal beings who tend the world's fairy tales — have gone silent. The stories they maintained are rotting from within, warping into cruel parodies of themselves. The Grimm Depths, a forest where all stories intersect, has become a nightmare realm. The last Storykeeper sent a final message: 'The Narrator has awakened. It's rewriting everything. Find the Quill before there are no happy endings left.'
The World
The Grimm Depths, an ever-shifting forest where fairy tales manifest as physical locations. Each clearing is a different story, but all are corrupted. The trees are made of ink-stained paper, the sky is the color of old parchment, and the paths between stories are dark, narrow, and watched. The deeper you go, the older and darker the stories become.
Starting Location
The Fraying Edge
The border where the normal world meets the Grimm Depths. The trees here are half normal, half paper. A wooden sign reads 'Once Upon a Time' but the words keep rearranging. Beyond the treeline, the forest breathes — pages rustling like lungs. The last Storykeeper's lantern hangs from a branch, still faintly glowing.
