Supported Dice
- d4 — Dagger damage, healing potions, Magic Missile
- d6 — Short sword damage, Fireball, ability scores (4d6 drop lowest)
- d8 — Longsword damage, Cure Wounds, hit dice for many classes
- d10 — Heavy crossbow damage, Eldritch Blast, Fighter hit dice
- d12 — Greataxe damage, Barbarian hit dice
- d20 — Attack rolls, saving throws, ability checks, initiative
- d100 — Percentile rolls, Wild Magic Surge table
Rolling Ability Scores
The classic method: set the die to d6, count to 4, check "Drop lowest roll," and roll six times. Each result is one ability score. This is the standard 4d6-drop-lowest method used since Advanced D&D.
